I’m Joanie Gorman, a Creative Strategist.
When I left University and art school in San Francisco, heaving portfolio in hand, I was ready for the ad world. I was an Art Director for a few years then followed a career path that brought less “Mad Men” and more practical experience. I worked in start-ups, corporate marketing, then ran my own design firm.
After moving to the UK and starting a family, I began teaching, blogging, and writing for national print and web publications.
A few years ago I noticed paralysing confusion among business owners I knew. Multiple social media platforms, an unending barrage of new tools and misunderstanding about traditional advertising, resulted in marketing clutter.
I’ve since gone back to my design roots, tying in marketing and teaching experience, to help growing businesses strip back and focus on clear, purposeful communication.
I live in the beautiful West Country (the surfing side of the UK) with my two children and personal trainer, Pippi, our Border Terrier. Sometimes I post about what we get up to on Instagram.
